Putin's Kiss awarded Best Documentary

On the same day as the members of the Russian Punk Band, Pussy Riots, were sentenced to two years of prison for a media stunt against Vladimir Putin, our film "Putin's Kiss" was awarded Best Documentary at the Danish TV Festival.

The Jury said:

This film qualifies to be the great ambitious tale of youth and politics in modern and highly complicated Russia. It digs into a tangle of alliances, threats, violence and hidden agendas and manages despite this complexity to engage the audience firmly into a dramatic and visually superior story. It is disturbing, and you must keep your tongue straight in your mouth. But Lise Birk and her team of photographers and editors takes the audience by the hand and leaves us with a secure feeling that nothing in Russian politics is that it seems to be.
